Paris Police responded to a burglary of a residence in the 800 block of NE 33rd St at 7:56 A.M. on October 28, 2022. The victim reported that someone entered the garage from possibly the back door and stole 2 bicycles and left the garage door open. The incident is under investigation.
At 1:52 A.M. on October 29, 2022, Paris Police met with the victim of an aggravated assault. The victim reported that they had been at a family gathering in the 3700 block of Castlegate Dr and got into a confrontation with a nephew. As the victim was leaving the gathering, the 25 year old nephew intentionally drove is vehicle into the victim’s vehicle. The victim left the scene due to fear of further violence. No one was injured in the incident and the nephew has not been located. The incident is under investigation.
Paris Police were dispatched to the 300 block of NE 25th St at 9:20 P.M. on October 29, 2022 in reference to a burglary of a residence. The victim reported that sometime between 4:00 A.M. and the time that the police were called, someone had broken a window on the back of the residence. The victim reported that the only item that they could find that was missing was a ring in a jewelry box that had been sitting in the window sill where the window was broken. The incident is under investigation.
Paris Police met with the victims of a burglary of a residence in the 2700 block of SE 3rd St at 10:21 P.M. on October 29, 2022. The family reported that due to the recent passing of a family member that lived alone, they had taken some precautions by placing a camera in the residence. They had found that the residence had been rummaged through several
times before placing the camera. On this date, the only item that was found to be missing was the camera that had been placed on top of the refrigerator. The investigation continues.
Paris Police responded to a shots fired call in the 1300 block of W Austin St at 11:25 P.M. on October 29, 2022. The four victims reported that a white Chevrolet Impala drove by the residence and fired 4 rounds towards their direction. Neighbors reported that there had been a fight in the street prior to the shots being fired. No one was injured in the incident and the incident is under investigation.
At 12:11 P.M. on October 30, 2022, Paris Police responded to the 600 block of Bonham St in reference to a disturbance. Officers located a 43 year old male that was bleeding from his head. The victim reported that he had been in an altercation with 31 year old Markeith Dontrele Perkins. The victim reported that he had allowed Perkins to move into his residence the day prior and during this altercation, Perkins had struck the victim several times with a baseball bat. Perkins was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon of a member of the household. Perkins was later placed in the
Lamar County Jail.
Paris Police responded to 235 calls for service and arrested 7 persons over the weekend ending at midnight on October 30, 2022.
