Paris’ Municipal Band is set to play patriotic music this Friday night at Bywater’s Park in honor of the Fourth of July at 8:30 p.m.
Band director Joe Watson said they will perform the band’s “yearly patriotic show honoring our country and military.
“This will be our fourth concert of our six,” Watson said, referencing the band’s summer performances. “Things have been going well this season with three great concerts so far.”
Watson said Paris Municipal Band’s two final performances will feature music from the 60s-80s with selections from Chicago, Journey, Carole King and Herb Alpert “to name a few, as well as some great marches, hymns and variety of music.”
Watson said performances begin at 8:30 p.m. to give the weather time enough to cool down before the band begins and last for just about an hour. If there is any rain, the band will perform at Love Civic Center’s pavilion, just north of the civic center.
