Paris Fire Department, EMS and Paris Police Department were dispatched to a boat on fire, which lead to the only passenger having to abandon the vessel in the middle of Lake Crook late Wednesday morning.
At about 11:20 a.m., Paris Fire Department crews were dispatched to the vehicle fire on Lake Crook. Once on scene, crews found a late-model ski boat fully engulfed, and they were told another boater had rescued the only passenger of the boat.
Paris Fire Department crews took the department’s flat-bottom boat to help tow the still engulfed boat to the lake’s shoreline. They were able to get the boat close enough for Engine 1 firefighters to extinguish the boat with Brush 1’s reel line along with a CO2 Extinguisher from Engine 1.
The badly-damaged boat was then secured to the nearby boat ramp, and all units cleared the scene and were back in service by about 12:15 p.m.
