North Lamar ISD campuses are busy preparing for the 2021-2022 school year. The first day of school is Monday, August 16. School hours are from 7:45 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with bus schedules running after parent pick up.
As of the end of the last Texas Legislative Session in May, the Texas Legislature had not approved funding for remote learning of any kind. As a result, remote learning will not be offered in North Lamar ISD during the 21-22 school year.
North Lamar High School has planned for Panthers FIRST freshman orientation on Wednesday, August 4 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. All incoming freshmen are encouraged to attend this informative event to pick up schedules, tour the campus and meet the teachers. There will be informational sessions addressing dress code, tardies, attendance, grading/late work policy and more. All high school students will pick up schedules the first day of school in the ‘B’ gym beginning at 7:30 a.m.
Parents and students entering grades K-6 are invited to meet their teachers and pick up schedules on August 12. School hours for Higgins Elementary, Everett Elementary, Bailey Intermediate and Stone Middle School are from 4 – 6 p.m. Aaron Parker Elementary will welcome students and parents from 5 – 7 p.m. Students entering Higgins, Everett, Bailey and Parker may bring their school supplies.
Parents of new students to the district are asked to register online at www.northlamar.net.
New students and returning students without a Parent Portal account will need to create a Parent Portal account. Instructions on how to create an Ascender Parent Portal account are located on the North Lamar website. Returning students with a Parent Portal account will need to update their information before August 16 by going to the North Lamar website. The Parent Portal allows viewing of student schedules, current averages for each class, attendance and important messages from the district, campus and teachers.
