On Feb. 6, Brandon Stansbury, 25, of Idabel, was arrested and charged with helping four inmates escape from the McCurtain County Jail on Feb. 3, according to the Choctaw Nation.
Stansbury was also arrested for conspiracy to commit a felony and bringing drugs into jail.
According to the Choctaw Nation, the four men were moved into a pod by Stansbury. In the pod, a pair of pliers were left in the ceiling by a contractor who also happened to be the brother of one of the escaped inmates.
It’s alleged the inmates used the pliers to then remove bolts, pry open a hatch leading to the jail’s roof and escape.
Stansbury was booked into and has since bonded out of Bryan County Jail.
