On Friday, the Prairiland Lady Patriots competed in their eighth district match. After playing a road-heavy district schedule in its first half of league play, Prairiland began its long stretch of five consecutive home matches. The first opponent for Prairiland during its key home stretch was Edgewood.
Prairiland defeated the Lady Bulldogs in four sets the first time these teams matched up in Edgewood. In Pattonville, dominant front-line play helped the Lady Pats power past Edgewood in four sets. The Lady Patriots (17-2, 8-0) won the match by a final score of 25-18, 18-25, 25-14, and 25-12.
With the triumph, Prairiland’s overall winning streak rose to 12 matches in a row. The Lady Patriots also held onto first place in the district with their eighth win in as many league matches.
Once the match got started, Prairiland and Edgewood each claimed a set by a final margin of 25-18. However, the Lady Pats turned up the intensity in all facets of their game in the final two sets. Prairiland broke a 1-1 tie in sets by taking down the Lady Bulldogs by double figures in the third and fourth sets of the match.

Junior middle blocker Abi Farmer returned from injury and helped the Lady Pats power past Edgewood impressively. She finished with 10 kills, 1 block, and 3 aces. Senior middles T.J. Folse and Reese Parris were also key to the victory. Folse recorded a game-high 14 kills to go with 11 digs, 1 block, and 1 ace. Parris contributed with 8 kills, 9 digs, 5 blocks, and 2 aces.
Lady Patriots junior outside hitter Ali Sessums performed well on offense and defense in the victory. She ended the match with 10 kills, a game-high 22 digs, and 3 aces. Sophomore setter Chloe Raley added 42 assists, 12 digs, and 3 aces. Sophomore Kyndal Yaross chipped in with 5 kills and 6 digs.
