Who knew the Choco Taco was such a beloved dessert? Klondike certainly didn’t after the uproar over its removal last month.
However, the ice cream dessert maker said in a tweet, Klondike is hoping to “bring the favorite treat back to ice cream trucks in the coming years.”
The company said it discontinued the Choco Taco after experiencing an “unprecedented spike in demand across its portfolio over the past two years,” having to make the decision to ensure availability of its full portfolio nationwide.
“A necessary but unfortunate part of this process is that we sometimes must discontinue products, even a beloved item like Choco Taco. We know this may be very disappointing, and hope you’ll try our other delicious frozen treats!” the company wrote.
The frozen treat featuring a taco-shaped waffle cone filled with vanilla ice cream, partially covered with milk chocolate and topped with peanuts, officially left stores in July.
