After his ban from social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter, former President Donald Trump launched his new platform – “From the Desk of Donald J. Trump” – Tuesday allowing him to communicate with followers.
According to Fox News, users are able to share from the platform to other social outlets, but they cannot interact with the posts. It is a one-way communication allowing Trump to communicate with his followers.
Users will, however, be able to sign up for alters when Trump posts a new message.
In March, Trump’s former 2020 presidential campaign advisor Corey Lewandowski said Trump had planned on launching a new platform.
At the time, Lewandowski said the platform would be launched within the following three to four months.
“It’s going to be an interactive communication tool whereby the president will be able to post things to it and people will be able to repost and communicate directly with him,” Lewandowski previously said.
After the Jan. 6 Capitol riots, Trump was accused of inciting, social media outlets like Facebook and Twitter banned the former president from using their platforms. Earlier today, Facebook’s Oversight Board announced it would continue blocking Former President Trump from use of its platform.
