Market Square Farmers Market in downtown Paris is set to open May 2. However, the market announced new hours and guidelines amid the coronavirus pandemic.
“One of the biggest changes is what time it will open, and for reduced hours,” they said.
The Farmers Markets will operate from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and will not allow any patron to enter the area before they open. They will also be implementing a designated entrance and exit for patrons to use.
Ensuring they are abiding by CDC and local social distancing guidelines, the market has also reduced their hours of operation and are only allowing, “essential” businesses and products.
“There will be no art or non-essential products allowed to be sold.”
Furthermore, they will close picnic tables for people to sit and eat at and vendors will have a to-go style of selling their products.
Vendors will also be spread out to every other table to assist with social distancing, and the markets are actively encouraging people not to bring their kids and only have one person for every household to attend.
There will also be a map provided on their website that will help shoppers know where and which vendors will be set up.
“We are taking all precautions to ensure the safety of all shoppers,” they said.
