Our precious mother, Edna Earl Crumbley Townsend, passed away Monday, April 22, 2019, at the age of 88. She was born Aug. 25, 1930, in the Vasco community of Delta County. She was preceded in death by her parents, Zollie Lee & Richie Jewel Crouch Crumbley, brothers, Ray, Bloyce, and Glen Crumbley, and her life partner, Jerry Dean Baker.

Surviving are her daughters, Rhonda Gentry and Linda Gentry, and son-in-law, Gary Ingram, all of Paris, and her beloved fur companion, Sadie.

Edna was a faithful member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church, the Eastern Star, and a life member of the VFW Auxiliary Post 3990. She graduated from East Delta High School and retired from Hollywood Vassarette as a supervisor. Our Mom loved people and everyone loved her. Her smile and laughter made all who came in contact with her feel special.

Bright-Holland Funeral Home has scheduled graveside services for 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 26th, at Lake Creek Cemetery with Rev. Michael Stone officiating. Friends and family may sign Edna’s register book at the funeral home through Friday morning.

You Can Only Have One Mother

You can only have one mother

Patient kind and true;

No other friend in all the world,

Will be the same to you.

When other friends forsake you,

To mother you will return,

For all her loving kindness,

She asks for nothing in return.

As we look upon her picture,

Sweet memories we recall,

Of a face so full of sunshine,

And a smile for one and all.

Sweet Jesus, take this message,

To our dear mother up above;

Tell her how we miss her,

And give her all our love.
