Madeleine Marqueze took home 10th-place Thursday at the Texas FFA State Convention in the Junior Prepared Public Speaking Contest. She also brought home the coveted Texas FFA banner.
Marqueze was one out of about 1,100 other schools around the state competing in this event.
Marqueze gave a 7-minute speech twice to a panel of judges and a live audience, where the speech was memorized and given word for word. Judges asked Marqueze random thought-provoking questions for about 5 minutes, where she was required to answer immediately.
“This is a very difficult contest, and we are so proud of Madeleine for representing Detroit FFA on stage,” Detroit FFA shared on social media.
