Residents in the City of Reno are allowed to discharge or explode fireworks from June 24-July 9 from 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Mondays-Saturdays and 1 p.m.-11 p.m. on Sundays.
The city of Reno does, however, prohibit some fireworks within its city limits.
The city’s code reads:
Fireworks meeting these definitions cannot be exploded or discharged in the city or the extraterritorial jurisdiction of the city:
(1) Any missile with fins or attached guidance devices which is designed to explode at apex and emit noise or lights in conjunction with the explosion. This definition shall not include model rocketry so long as:
(A) The model is not designed to or altered to explode at apex; and
(B) The model has a recovery system.
(2) Stick rockets with a stick measuring less than 16 inches.
