Lamar County volleyball continues its regular season with key district games taking place tonight. Following a win in four sets at home against Van, the Paris Lady Wildcats open up their district schedule in their third consecutive home game this season. Paris will face Gilmer at 7 p.m. as both teams look to secure an early 1-0 record in district play.
Meanwhile, the North Lamar Pantherettes will resume their season after a brief hiatus due to the pandemic with their first district game. The Pantherettes had to sit out for two weeks while canceling their remaining non-district games but will travel to Liberty-Eylau to face off against the Lady Leopards at 6 p.m. Wednesday in Texarkana. North Lamar is looking to get back into the win column following the hiatus. Before the two-week shutdown, North Lamar fell to Celina in three sets, then lost to Community in five sets. Liberty-Eylau has not recorded a win thus far in the 2020 season.
Volleyball continues locally in Class 3A with the district-leading Prairiland Lady Patriots play at Grand Saline at 6 p.m. as they aim for their fifth win in league play. The Lady Patriots own a district record of 5-0 and are 13-2 overall. Their wins in district play include a four-set triumph at Edgewood and a five-set victory at Emory Rains. Meanwhile, the Chisum Lady Mustangs aim to bounce back at 6 p.m. at Lone Oak in an attempt to snap a four-game losing skid following an 8-0 start to the season.
