After a virtual public meeting on July 16, TxDOT is now seeking input on proposed short-term and long-term improvements to Loop 286.
The proposal calls for a project length of 15.5 miles to increase “needed geometric and safety improvements.
Project details are available to the public by clicking here.
“The project is currently in the schematic and environmental phase of design and analysis, which is one of the early stages in the project development life cycle. The purpose of this stage of design is to determine project needs including evaluating travel demand, mobility needs, safety improvements, environmental impacts and impacts on existing and planned developments. Once a preferred alternative is determined, the project team will prepare a preliminary roadway design and perform an environmental assessment of the proposed project. This process includes two public meetings and a public hearing that will allow the public to learn more about the project, view alternatives and potential improvements and provide input on the project.”
Comments from the public are encouraged and must be received on or by July 31, 2020. More information on how to submit comments can be found at www.loop286.com
