On Wednesday, Spring Lake Assisted Living residents lined the driveway out the front of their building as a parade of their smiling loved ones displayed handmade signs and waved from passing cars.
“The residents were absolutely thrilled,” said Wellness Director Bailee Syrus. “They are still talking about it.”
For the past several weeks, residents haven’t been able to see their loved ones in person in a bid to stay safe and follow social distancing guidelines amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
“We are doing really well at Spring Lake and trying to keep the residents busy doing things. We are also Facetiming families so they can see them which is helping a lot.”
Syrus said around 50 vehicles participated in the parade and they couldn’t have been happier with the turnout as family members were able to put smiles on the faces of their loved ones until they can see each other again in person.
