When local business owner, Casey Hayes was given tickets to go see a taping of The Ellen DeGeneres Show from a friend back in April, little did she know it would lead to an appearance on Ellen’s newest TV show, Game of Games.

“I’ve been watching Ellen for about 15 years,” said Hayes. “She always makes me laugh and for an hour every day I could just watch something positive and happy.”

While at the taping in Los Angeles, Hayes said producers for the new game show were looking for “fun people” in the audience who were interested in being on Game of Games.

That’s when Hayes said she got her foot in the door and was chosen to be on the show.

“I wanted to be on the show for a couple of different reasons,” she said. “Firstly, it’s so funny and I’m all about making people laugh and i knew it would be an amazing once in a life time opportunity. Another reason was I thought it would be so cool to meet Ellen.”

In Ellen’s Game of Games, contestants are selected to play in one of four preliminary games in each episode. The winner of each game advances to the semi-final round to play “Know or Go”. The last remaining player will play the “Hot Hands” game for a chance to win $100,000.

Hayes competed against two other women in a game called, Runaway Bride. Players were dressed as a bride and had to run on a giant treadmill while collecting slices of wedding cake. The catch was, objects were thrown at them and not all of the objects were pieces of cake.

“Let’s just say you better be prepared to laugh,” said Hayes.

“I think the best part of the experience was getting to experience it with my brother. We got to spend three days in LA together and being on Game of Games was just the icing on top of the cake.”

Hayes also said meeting Ellen was a dream come true.

“She is truly so nice and kind. Everyone who works for her are the same way – very positive, nice and kind,” said Hayes. “They treated us so good and we had so much fun. I look up to Ellen a lot, she does so much for other people and she gives back so much.”

Ellen’s Game of Games airs Tuesday’s at 8/7c on NBC.
