Roger Bates Ricketts, 82, of Paris, passed away Friday, Sept. 18, 2020, at Paris Regional Medical Center.
Cremation is under the care and direction of Bright-Holland Funeral Home.
Mr. Ricketts, the son of Herman Ricketts & Zelma Elizabeth Bates Ricketts, was born May 8, 1938, in Killeen, Texas.
He was a draftsman for Texas Instruments and E-Systems. Roger taught biology at a private Christian school and drove a bus for West Lamar Independent School District. The last 25 years of his career were spent working for Wal-Mart.
He was a member of the Family Worship Center. Roger enjoyed Chess, the study of fossils & rocks, gardening, watching tennis, and the Texas Rangers. The study of Bible Prophecy was of great importance to him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Harold Dean Ricketts, and a nephew, Ricky Dean Ricketts.
Survivors include his wife, Teresa “Terri” Ricketts, four children; Michael Ricketts, Elizabeth Leija & husband Dimas, Alexander Ricketts, and Sara Pierce & husband Jonathan all of Paris, grandchildren; Hope Ricketts, Ryan Ricketts, Lee Leija, Mark Leija, and Eillan Ricketts, a brother, Jimmy Sam Ricketts of Arkansas along with several nieces & nephews and a host of friends.
