Red, White and Tuna comes to the Paris Community Theatre Stage!

Paris Community Theatre is pleased to announce the opening of the hilarious Red, White and Tuna written by Jaston Williams, Joe Sears, and Ed Howard.  The production opens on June 15 at the Historic Plaza Theatre in Downtown Paris.

The much anticipated third installment in the Tuna series takes the audience through another satirical ride into the hearts and minds of the polyester-clad citizens of Texas’ third smallest town. Along with Tuna’s perennial favorites, some new Tuna denizens burst into the 4th of July Tuna High School Class Reunion.  It’s been several years since we left Bertha and Arles dancing at the end of A Tuna Christmas…Did the romance blossom? Has Didi Snavley received any “cosmic” communications from R.R.’s UFO? Did Stanley make his fortune in the Albuquerque taxidermy business? These and other burning questions will be asked and answered in the side-splitting spoof of life in rural America.

The production is being directed by Paris High School Theatre Director and longtime PCT participant, Amy Burrows.  “When a director has a talented cast, his or her job is an easy one,” says Burrows. “Josh Maxwell and Mike Pickering brilliantly bring the twenty different characters of Red, White, and Tuna to life as hysterical reflections of small-town Texas folks.”

“The chance to perform in a Tuna play has been a dream come true,” says Maxwell.  Pickering adds, “If the audience enjoys it half as much as we have, then a good time will be had by all.”  The play is being underwritten by Turner Industries, Guaranty Bank and Trust, and Love Small Animal Hospital, with funding in part by the Texas Commission on the Arts.

Performances begin on June 15 and run through June 24, Friday-Sunday. Friday and Saturday performances begin at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday performances begin at 2:30 p/m. The theater opens 30 minutes prior to show time.

Red, White, and Tuna contains some adult language and situations; parental discretion is advised.
