The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission in conjunction Whirlpool have issued a product recall on more than 26,000 glass cooktops because they can turn on by themselves.
The Commission said Whirlpool, KitchenAid and JennAir brand glass cooktops with touch controls are included in the recall.
With the cooktop surface elements turning on by themselves, they are posing serious burn and fire hazards.
To determine if your cooktop is part of the recall, locate the model and serial number. The numbers can be found on the underside of the cooktop. There is a list of serial numbers that are affected in this recall by clicking here.
