Paris Regional Medical Center recently announced the recipients of their Daisy and Violet awards.
Leah Denison was awarded the Daisy award while Jed Reyes was named Violet award honoree.
The Daisy and Violet awards are presented to “extraordinary nurses” and honor the “super-human work nurses do for patients and families every day.”
Denison is an RN in PAT and has been with PRMC since 2015.
“Her nominator recalled a moment not too long ago when Leah was counseling a patient who was nervous about the procedure he would soon undergo, so she sat and sang a hymnal to him, going far beyond the call of duty – something we have come to know is simply in Leah’s nature,” said PRMC.
Reyes is a Nurse Aide on the rehab unit who has been with PRMC since 2009.
“He was nominated by one of his patients, which is always particularly special. The nomination reads, “Jed shows how much he loves people every day. He has done everything he can to make my stay here productive and he always shows pride in his work.”
“Thank you both for your incredible dedication to your patients and their loved ones.”
