During the recent Troy Segura Classic Meet, four Prairiland High School cross country runners earned high honors on the boys and girls sides. Each of the four students finished top 10 in their respective categories with no one finishing lower than seventh place.
On the boys side, senior Eddie Banda finished the race first place overall, his third top-three finish this season. He placed third in a meet in Commerce, second place in a meet in Avery, and first place in the recent meet in Pittsburg.
Meanwhile, freshman Randee Maull finished in second place as the top female finisher. The other top-10 female finishers were junior JaDa Torres (fifth) and sophomore Mikenna Rubright (seventh).
Last week for the Prairiland Junior High School cross country runners on the Avinger Course, eighth grader Austin Young placed third, while seventh grader Austin Wantland took home ninth place. On the girls side, Bella McClain (7th grade) placed third, Joslin Lewis (7th grade) finished in sixth place, and Hayden Cornmesser (7th grade) claimed 13th place.
Other top seventh-grade finishers included Tinley Smith (15th place), Ava Bulls (20th place), and Greer Woods (23rd place). Eighth grader Ella Gilbert also performed well with a 25th-place finish. The junior high girls team placed second overall as a team.
