Paris police responded to the 3700 block of Castlegate Dr at 1:54 p.m. on July 13. It was reported that the victim heard a knock on her front door and opened the door. An unknown male asked for the victim’s roommate and was told that she was not there. The male then grabbed the victim by her arms and they began to struggle. The victim was able to get away from the male and he fled the residence in a grey vehicle. The incident is currently under investigation.
Later that day at 4:46 p.m. on July 1, Paris police stopped a vehicle in the 2300 block of Bonham St due to the known driver having outstanding warrants. Danny Joe Smith, 46, of Paris, was arrested on a bond surrender warrant on a possession of synthetic marijuana charge. During the arrest, Smith was found to be in possession of over 4 grams of synthetic cannabinoids. He was additionally charged with manufacturing or delivering a controlled substance. He was later transferred to the Lamar County Jail.
Paris police stopped a vehicle for speeding at 9:48 p.m. on July 13, in the 100 block of Graham St. The driver, 47-year old Christopher Matthew Foiles, was found to be intoxicated and was arrested. It was later found that Foiles had at least two prior DWI convictions so therefore, the charge was enhanced to a felony. Foiles was later transferred and placed in the Lamar County Jail.
