POLICE: Officers respond to shots-fired call, man arrested for burglary

Paris Police responded to shots fired call in the 1500 block of Neathery St at 5:45 p.m. on September 27, 2019.

“Officers made contact with 23-year-old Brittany Sessums who was found to be in possession of methamphetamine,” said Officer Curtis Garrett. 

Sessums was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance. She was later placed in the Lamar County Jail.

“The shots were later found to be firecrackers,” added Garrett. 

On Saturday, Sept. 28, Paris Police responded to a suspicious person call in the 500 block of SE 42nd St at 3:05 a.m.

“Officers located a 1999 silver Honda Accord driven by 23-year-old Glenn Earl Gordon, of Livingston, Texas,” said Garrett. 

Gordon was found to be in possession of property that did not belong to him.

“It was later found that the property had been taken from two vehicles that were parked in the 300 block of SE 42nd St.”

Gordon was arrested and charged with two counts of burglary of motor vehicles and possession of identifying information. The two counts of burglary of motor vehicles were enhanced to felonies due to previous convictions. Gordon was later transferred to the Lamar County Jail.
