Police find 15lbs of marijuana and stolen gun during search

Around 2 p.m. Saturday, Paris police officers executed a search warrant in 500 block of SW 42nd and made contact with 33-year-old, Jermaine Davis.

“Officers found a 9mm handgun which had previously been reported stolen and approximately 15 pounds of marijuana,” said Paris Police Lt. John Berry.

Berry said, Davis was placed under arrest for possession of marijuana >5lbs<50lbs, theft of a firearm, unlawful possession of a firearm due to Davis being a convicted felon, and a misdemeanor charge.

He was taken to the Lamar County Jail where no bonds have been set.

 

 

Earlier Saturday morning, around 9 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the 1300 block of Fitzhugh and made contact with 26-year-old, Darrion Biggers.

“Biggers ran from the officers and was observed by the officers throwing a methamphetamine as he ran from the officers,” said Lt. Berry

Biggers was apprehended in the 1200 block NE 8th and charged with manufacturing or delivery of a controlled substance and a misdemeanor charge.

He was booked into the Lamar County Jail and is being held on a $12,500 bond.
