On Monday, the Paris High School boys golf team claimed first place at the PHS Sonic Drive-In Invitational golf tournament at the Paris Golf and Country Club.
The Wildcats were led by junior Mason Napier’s score of 70, which was the team’s top individual score. Along with Napier, Tyler Harvey shot a 77, Tate Lewis finished with a 79, Adam Clement had a 91, and Mathew Scott finished with a score of 96. Erickson Mathieu shot a 114 in his first-ever tournament as a varsity golfer for Paris. As a team, Paris finished with a team total of 317, which was good for the top finish by six strokes over Mount Pleasant.
Greenville won the tournament as a team on the girl’s side on Monday, but Lady ’Cat sophomore Ava Tidwell tied for second place individually with a final score of 112 in her first-ever tournament. Other top Lady ’Cat scorers were Lilly Lewis (120), Ainsley Mathieu (120), Emma Homer (123), Madeline Green (123), Ella Ryan Harper (123), Rachel Renfroe (126), and Angel Ibarra (140).
