Keep Paris Beautiful has teamed up with Texas A&M Forest Service to offer FREE tree seedlings to Lamar County locals this Saturday, Feb. 22.
There will be a variety of seedlings that will ready to flourish in the local landscape once planted. Pecan, Pin Oak, Willow Oak, and Chinkapin Oak will be up for grabs until all taken.
“This event started in 2013 as an Arbor Day Ceremony and tree give away for Lamar County,” said TFS Forester John Hawkins. “It’s all about promoting tree planting and care as well as reflecting on the importance of trees to the local community. There is no more powerful demonstration than helping children plant and care for the trees that their own children and grandchildren will enjoy.”
Forest Service staff will be available on the day to help with any questions you may have on how to best plant your seedling.
The event will run from 9-11 a.m. at the Lamar County Courthouse parking lot on N. Main St.
