As New Year’s Eve was getting set to kick off celebrations, law enforcement agencies were warning drivers to be smart as they took to the roads.
“Don’t drink and drive,” was once again the message for people all over the world. And according to local authorities, the majority of people taking to the roads on their way to and from celebrations adhered to safety protocols.
The Paris Police Department reported no DUI stops or arrests for New Year’s Eve.
The Lamar County Sheriff’s Office had good reports, with only one arrest on Dec 31, at around 9 p.m. for intoxicated driving on the inmate booking report.
The Department of Public Safety also advised that it was a good night on the roads in Lamar County as there was no recorded DUI pullovers nor was there any major accidents recorded.
