Paris PD & Lamar County Sheriff’s Department team up with ATF & U.S. Marshals for drug bust

Around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday night, officers with the Paris Police Department, Lamar County Sheriff’s Office, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearm, and Explosives (ATF) and US Marshals served a warrant arrest in the 500 block of Deshong Drive.

Officers made contact with 50-year old Jimmy Jackson, 51-year-old Leon Jackson, and 47-year-old Yvonne Owen said Paris Police Lt John Berry.

“J. Jackson and L. Jackson were placed under arrest for federal warrants for conspiracy/possession/intent/manufacture-distribute controlled substance,” Berry said.

During the raid, Berry said approximately 2 ounces of methamphetamine was found which resulted in J. Jackson and Owen being charged with manufacturing or delivery of a controlled substance.

All three were taken to Lamar County Jail.

J. Jackson was charged with manufacturing or delivery of a controlled substance, penalty group 1, between 4-200 grams and conspiracy/possession with intent to deliver meth. L. Jackson was charged with possession of a controlled substance, penalty group 1, less than 1 gram, conspiracy/possession with intent to deliver meth and non-payment of a failure to maintain financial responsibility. Owen was charged with manufacturing or delivery of a controlled substance, penalty group 1, between 4-200 grams. 

No bonds will be set for the conspiracy charges against J. Jackson or L. Jackson, and no bonds have been set for Owen yet.
