Jeff Chapman was named the girl’s coordinator and head girls basketball coach at the Paris ISD Board of Trustees meeting Monday evening.

Chapman has more than 20 years of experience in managing and developing athletics programs in high school.  He has served as the girls basketball coach at Sulphur Springs High School since 2010.

He also has been the girls coach at Idabel Public Schools from 1998 to 2010, in addition to girls basketball coach and high school JV basketball coach, junior high basketball, and track coach at Enid Public Schools from 1977 to 1998.

Chapman earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Sheridan Junior College and his Bachelor of Science degree from Phillips University.

Chapman said he hopes his experience and love of basketball and all sports will benefit both coaches and students. He is looking forward to coordinating the pre-athletics program and building fundamental skills at the lower levels before students get to high school. He wants to increase participation and create a winning basketball program while being dedicated to the success of every athlete.

Coach Chapman is married and has 2 children.

Athletics director Steven Hohenberger said, “Jeff Chapman has been a positive difference maker at every school he has worked for. He has been successful on the basketball court with numerous championships but more importantly, his ability and passion to communicate and teach high character standards will be a valuable addition to our district.”
