The Paris Fire Department was called to a structure fire in the 300 blk of Brown St. on Sunday evening.
An official from the department advised that the fire started in the kitchen area where a clothes dryer was also located. Nothing was on the stove and the resident was in bed when it started.
The call came in shortly before 8 p.m. and firefighters worked quickly with an offensive attack to control the blaze from spreading. Firefighters gained control of the structure in a little over an hour.
It is unknown what caused the fire, the fire marshal was called to investigate.
Paris police and EMS were also on scene.
Atmos Energy and Oncor Electric were also called for precaution.
There were no reported injuries.
