The Paris Fire Department recently conducted a series of promotional examinations within the department for the positions of Deputy Chief, Captain, and Driver Engineer.
“We are very proud of these individuals for the motivation and determination displayed by studying and passing these exams,” said interim Fire Chief Thomas McMonigle.
Candidates who scored highest on the examinations were promoted to the following ranks:
- Position of Deputy Chief: Captain William McDowell
- Position(s) of Captain: Driver Engineer Connor Wideman and Driver Engineer Joey Rickman
- Position of Driver Engineer: Firefighter Josey Francis
All promotions will become effective on the weekend of Dec 28.
“They’ve all shown the willingness to step up and lead in their current roles and have worked hard to better the department along the way. We’re really excited to see what they bring to the department in their new roles and believe that the best is yet to come,” McMonigle added.
