Each year, Paris EMS takes to the streets with their ‘Fill-The-Boot’ campaign to raise money for children and the elderly within our community.
100% of the money collected during the campaign, held at Christmas, goes towards their mission to help those in need.
This year, thanks to the generosity of Lamar County residents, Paris EMS were able to buy 42 box fans and five new Air-conditioning units.
“Typically we buy just box fans for them, but this year we decided to give cold air producing units for as many as we could”, says Russell Thrasher, Paramedic Supervisor.
“In a unique collaborative, we are helping families not only with a new AC unit but the United Way has volunteered to install them by an electrician at no cost to the families. With the heat index nearing 108 deg, these folks need some relief, and we hope this helps a little.”
