The North Lamar varsity girls cross country team claimed the District 15-4A Championship title after competing in Pittsburg on Monday. The Pantherettes varsity cross country squad claimed first place by a margin of seven points. North Lamar led with 46 points, followed by Gilmer with 53 points, Pleasant Grove with 58 points, Pittsburg with 92 points, Paris with 98 points, and Liberty-Eylau with 130 points.
North Lamar top scorers individually were Emeri Watson, who finished in third place overall with a time of 13:27.78. Catie Lenertz claimed fourth place overall with a time of 13:28.76, while Emma Fowler ended up in 11th place overall with a time of 13:57.70. Addison Exum recorded a 13th-place finish with a time of 14:15.18, and Kaidynse Steed earned 15th place overall with a time of 14:24.90.
Other members of the Pantherettes varsity cross country team are Bralie Fox, Ann Vukcevich, Rylee Mahon, Ryleigh Stowers, Camila Lenertz, Camden Renfro, and Emmalee Michael.
The regional cross country meet is scheduled for Nov. 9 and 10 in Dallas. There, the Pantherettes will go up against fellow Class 4A district champions in Region II competition. North Lamar’s head cross country coach is LeAnn McGuire. For more sports coverage, click here.
