UPDATE: School officials confirmed this evening, North Lamar ISD High School will be open Wednesday while the investigating into today’s school threat continues.
North Lamar ISD has responded to a threat made against the school Tuesday morning and brought in extra law enforcement as precautionary measures.
The school posted to social media midday Tuesday stating:
NLISD has been made aware of a social media post threatening the NLHS campus. The NLISD police department, in conjunction with local law enforcement and the District Attorney’s Office, is investigating the post.
At this time, law enforcement does not believe the post to be credible.
However, extra safety measures have been put in place for the district including a heightened presence of law enforcement in the district.
According to comments on Facebook, the threat appeared to have been made in a group text message.
