In a unanimous decision amongst North Lamar Independent School District’s school board members, the first day of school was moved to Tuesday, Sept. 8, the day after Labor Day.
With North Lamar’s decision Monday night, other local school districts in Paris ISD, Chisum ISD, and Prairiland ISD are likely to follow suit in moving their first school days to the same day as North Lamar.
North Lamar has a 26-page reentry plan available to view or download on the school’s website. Some of the main COVID-19 related concerns addressed in the plan include the details of the in-person and at-home learning options, health and safety measures, infection control measures, visitation, transportation, meal plans, and various COVID-19 protocols.
