With a rating of Award of Distinguished Merit, North Lamar High School senior Folten Bolyard showcases the 2017-2018 North Lamar High School yearbook which earned top scores from the Interscholastic League Press Conference (ILPC).

Seven categories of 14 earned distinguished merit and no score was less than an award of achievement.

“Love the quotes in most captions,” the judge wrote in the critique. “Your reporters dug deep to get quotes that added information, emotion, and value to the pages.”

ILPC evaluation includes categories for writing, photography, design, and coverage. In closing comments, the judge encouraged the staff by stating, “With a little work, you could be one of the very best in the state.”

The yearbook is a student publication. The editor-in-chief for the awarded yearbook was Cheyenne Holder. Folten served as the 2017-2018 academic section editor and is the 2018-2019 editor-in-chief.  NLHS publication advisor is Cheryl LaRue.
