Around 6 a.m. Monday morning, Paris police officers responded to a sexual assault complaint.
It was reported that an unknown suspect had assaulted and sexually assaulted the complainant.
“33-year-old Marcus Hawkins was identified as a person of interest after he later used the victim’s ATM card. Hawkins was located in the 100 block of Pine Bluff and was detained,” said Paris Police Lt. John Berry.
Hawkins was later placed under arrest after an arrest warrant was issued for sexual assault.
The investigation is ongoing.
