Man arrested for local burglaries || Over $50,000 in stolen goods recovered

On August 04, 2018 Lamar County Deputies responded to a Burglary of a Habitation that occurred in the Powderly Area where unknown person(s) entered the residence and stole numerous items such as savings bonds, firearms, household items, jewelry and electronics that totaled over $60,000.00 dollars in property loss.

“The same day, Deputies were also called to the 10 blk of CR 44370 where a complainant reported his vehicle was taken by a known individual, a Ryan Bozarth, and the vehicle had not been returned,” said Lamar County Sheriff Scott Cass.

Deputies while searching for the stolen vehicle and Bozarth found the vehicle abandoned at in the Pattonville community.

On inventory of the vehicle, Deputies found property matching the description of property reported stolen from the Burglary of a Habitation that Deputies were currently working in the Powderly community.

“Sheriff Detectives gained a search warrant for a residence that Bozarth was staying at and located further property matching the description of property reported stolen in the Burglary. Total property recovered from this Burglary resulted in over $50,000.00 dollars.”

On August 7, 2018, Sheriff Detectives obtained warrants of arrest for Burglary of a Habitation and Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle for a Ryan Edward Bozarth. Detectives located and arrested Bozarth on August 09, 2018 at a residence in the Paris area and transported him to the Lamar County jail.

Bozarth is currently being held on a $40,000.00 dollars bond and a TDCJ Parole violation hold.

“I want to commend the Deputies for apprehending this suspect quickly and the recovering of numerous property items that were reported stolen in this burglary,” said Sheriff Cass.

This investigation is still on-going.
