On Wednesday morning, local firemen from Paris Fire Department – Quint 4 made a special stop to brighten two young kids day.

Dustin Huff, Jordan Blackshear, Slade Baker and Brian Ford were servicing hydrants on the corner of 24th SE and Clark Lane when Anastasia, 4 years-old, and Mia, 2 years-old, saw them and couldn’t contain their excitement.

“They were working on the hydrant on our street when I was loading up my car in morning and when I saw the hydrant begin to spray a lot of water, I ran inside to let the grandkids see it cause I thought they’d think it was cool to see,” said Lisa Lee.

“When the girls saw it they went to hooping and hollering cause they were excited.”

The fire crew heard the girls and gave them a smile and a wave, but their brief meeting didn’t end there.

“As the water began to slow down, I took the girls back inside the house. Very shortly after that, I heard a knock at the door and there they all were on my porch with fireman hats and stickers for the girls,” said Lisa.

“We were just trying to make their day,” said Paris Fireman Dustin Huff. “When we see people out we try to do nice stuff, especially for little kids.”

The kind gesture certainly made Anastasia and Mia’s day.

“They were wearing their hats and talking about fire trucks all day. I thought it was just so kind to take time out to come to the door and bring that to them and make a couple little kids entire day. It was so unexpected and kind,” said Lisa.
