John Mack Woodfin, 70, longtime resident of Paris, died March 12, 2018. A memorial service will be conducted at 10:00 AM Monday, March 26, 2018, at Holy Cross Episcopal Church with Father Craig Reed as celebrant. Private interment will follow.

Mack Woodfin was born July 4, 1947, in Cleveland Ohio to George Smiley and Susan Peterson Woodfin. Dr. Woodfin at that time was completing his medical residency at Case Western Reserve Hospital. The Woodfins moved to Paris in 1948.

Mack attended primary school and high school in Paris, also the Lawrenceville School in New Jersey and the University of Texas in Austin, where he was a member of Delta Tau Delta fraternity.

Following college, Mack worked in the construction business and the oil business before returning to Paris in 1991 to manage Woodfin Bros. hay and cattle operations for his mother upon his father’s death. He became co-owner in 1999. Mack, an avid golfer, was President of the Paris Golf and Country Club nine times.

He is survived by his wife, Dora Kirkland Woodfin and children, Christopher Kirkland and wife Casie, Sarah Sullivan and husband, Joe; grandchildren Skylar Kirkland, Chris Kirkland II, Tyler Hoffman, John Mack Sullivan, Joe Sullivan, Kristen Sullivan; sisters, Hester Woodfin Parker and husband Richard of Corsicana, Georgia Woodfin Leddy and husband Michael of Paris; nieces, Elizabeth Leddy Ochoa and husband Jorge of Greensboro, NC, Sara Leddy Walter MD and husband Collin of Oklahoma City, OK; cousins, Bill Woodfin MD and wife Fran of McKinney and Christy Curtis and husband Wayne of Wasilla, AK.

If desired, in lieu of flowers, family request memorials be made in memory of John Mack Woodfin to Red River Valley Boys and Girls Club Foundation
