Jerry Don Waters, 78, of Paris, passed away Monday, June 17, 2019, at Carrus Hospital in Sherman.
The family has scheduled a memorial service for 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 28th, at Paris Junior College, Applied Science Building, lecture room 105. Cremation was under the care and direction of Bright-Holland Funeral Home.
Jerry, the son of Percy Wright “Slim” Waters & Bertha Stewart Waters, was born March 30, 1941, in Cooper.
He grew up in Cooper and attended Cooper schools. His military service was with the United States National Guard. Jerry’s career as a jewelry instructor at Paris Junior College spanned thirty-four years before his retirement in 2010.
His parents preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Hale Waters, whom he married on June 27, 1970, building almost fifty years of family and memories, two children, Renee Ivins & husband Jerry of Houston and Shawn Waters of Paris, three granddaughters, McKenzie Ivins, Sarah Ivins, and Caitlynn Ivins, and a brother, Jimmy Waters of Cooper along with a host of friends.
