HOUSTON — Despite the mass cancellations and suspensions of schools, sports and large gatherings amidst the recent coronavirus outbreak, the Houston Zoo is doing its part to help the public cope with the madness.

The Houston Zoo has begun streaming live daily updates of the animals in their zoo beginning at 11 a.m. each weekday. The zoo publishes its live feed on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter in an effort to help keep quarantined kids entertained.

The zoo employees will take the camera briefly each day, give updates of the animals and their condition at the zoo and share facts about each animal they discuss.

Today, Mar. 18, the zoo will be doing a cheetah check-in sharing with viewers how zookeepers are caring for their spotted friends and constantly finding ways to keep them active, healthy and engaged. Viewers will also be able to ask questions LIVE.

You can also watch previous LIVE videos by clicking on videos.

To watch live streams on any of the three social media platforms, search Houston Zoo or go to www.houstonzoo.org
