The Lamar County Sheriff’s Office today notified residents that United States Census Bureau workers will be in and around Lamar County in the coming weeks.
“These workers are collecting information for the 2020 Decennial Census, they may be taking pictures of the land and knocking on doors asking for statistical information,” said Sheriff Scott Cass.
The workers will have credentials and department issued picture ID cards that they will provide to you.
Pictured (above) are some examples of how to identify a Census worker.
“Please continue to notify the Sheriff’s Office or your local law enforcement agency if there is someone or something suspicious in and around your neighborhood,” added Cass.
