Less than two weeks into the New Year and Days Inn – Paris, TX by Wyndham Hotels & Resorts is already celebrating a huge accomplishment.

“Yesterday we had our Quality Assurance Audit/Compliance Check and we scored a 98.95%,” said owner Mihir Pankaj.

In fact, the local hotel did so well during their audit that they are now ranked the 8th amongst a total of 1,575 Days Inns in North America.

“This means that we are once again a top Chairman’s Award winning hotel and we couldn’t be more excited or proud of our whole team.”

Pankaj and his family took ownership of Days Inn – Paris, TX, in 1993 after moving from Daytona Beach, Florida.

“Our family owned a small 20 room motel right off the beach but my parents wanted to grow their business so they decided to look for a better opportunity elsewhere and came across the Crossroads Inn here in Paris, TX in 1993,” said Pankaj.

The family decided to convert the property to Days Inn, which now boasts 55 rooms, a brand new fitness center and guest laundry that will be opening up in March.

The family, who also own Hampton Inn by Hilton in Paris, are no strangers to the Quality Assurance Audit/Compliance Checks.

“The QA Auditor comes to your property and goes through a comprehensive checklist of what they expect based on brand standards,” explained Pankaj.

“We are to go through that entire checklist and present to the auditor that we are in full compliance and adhere by the standards the franchise has mandated, but we always expect our operations to be above and beyond our guests’ expectation.”

The auditor inspects everything from the guest services operations and customer service, all the way to housekeeping and cleanliness.

“The auditor also reviews our guest reviews that guest has left us, and all the stats that are collected through Medallia, a cloud-based program that sends surveys to guests to assess their experience at our hotel,” continued Pankaj.

“After finishing all these parts of the audit, the auditor then presents us with the final score, and our final score was a 98.95% which this kind of a high score is remarkable.”

While Pankaj is blown away with the outcome, he can’t brag on his staff enough.

“On behalf of ownership, Greg Magan, Bharati Patel, and Mihir “Mark” Pankaj, we would like to thank our amazing staff for all their hard work.  We would also like to thank our wonderful guests and our sister-hotel, Hampton Inn – Paris, TX for their support, and last but not least, we want to absolutely thank the wonderful community of Paris, TX, for always being there for us.”
