Brookshire’s is more than just your local grocery store; they know first hand how important family is. They consider their customers to be a part of their extended family, which is why they announced a special hour of shopping for the elderly and those with a compromised immune system.

“During these times of concern about COVID-19, we are asking you to join in our efforts to take care of our senior neighbors and others who are most vulnerable to this illness,” the company announced in a press release.

Assistant store manager Kaleb Walker said that as well as the elderly, those locals with compromised immune systems from dealing with such things as cancer treatments are welcome to do their shopping between 8-9 a.m. to help keep them as safe as possible.

“We are trying to think of all the ways we can help the community stick together and help our neighbors in need,” Walker said.

Brookshire’s will also offer a temporary 5% DAILY discount for senior citizens in all Brookshire’s, Super 1 Foods, Spring Market and FRESH by Brookshire’s stores through May 5, 2020.

The discount is available to guests age 60 or older with valid ID. Additionally, they have also waived fees for all guests on Curbside orders, where available, through May 5, 2020, as another way to help guests who are depending on them for this service.

Knowing how important it is that all their customers can get what they need, Brookshire’s is committed to staying at the forefront of what is happening and being mindful of their customer’s possible limited budgets.

“We are so appreciative of you, our guests, for your incredible support, patience, and understanding during these unprecedented times. We can’t thank you enough for your observance of limits on certain high-demand items, taking only what you need and leaving some for your neighbors who come behind you,” they said.
