Early Tuesday morning House Democrats announced two articles of impeachment – charging President Donald J Trump with abuse of power and obstruction of Congress.
Trump, however, says he did “NOTHING” wrong and that impeaching a President with a record like his would be “sheer Political Madness!”
The case against Trump was laid out at a daylong House Judiciary Committee hearing on Monday, Dec 9.
The alleged impeachment articles against Trump are stirring mixed feelings amongst those both in the media, Federal Law, and those on Capitol Hill.
Guy Lewis, Former US Attorney said to Fox News in an interview that he felt the impeachment articles that the Democratic Party has presented have serious holes in its credibility.
“He is taking a victory lap too early,” Lewis said on James Comy’s enthusiasm on what the FBI’s investigation found as evidence leading to this impeachment.
The charges unveiled Tuesday stem from Trump’s pressure on Ukraine to announce investigations of his political rivals as he withheld aid to the country.
Voting is expected in a matter of days in the Judiciary Committee and by Christmas in the full House.
