There’s nothing more perfect on a cold winter day than a bowl of chili and some cornbread but when the proceeds help a local volunteer fire department it’s enough to make you feel warm and fuzzy inside.

The Blossom Volunteer Fire Department’s Annual Chili Supper and Auction has been set for Saturday, February 9th.

“This is our major fundraiser for the year and the proceeds help us with fuel, maintenance, gear, and training,” said Blossom VFD Chief Jeff Stover.

Mild and hot chili, hot dogs, Frito pies, beans, and cornbread will be served up at 5 p.m. before the auction is set to kick off at 6 p.m.

“There will be an array of items up for auction from hotel stays, mulch, automotive items, beauty, supplies, cakes, home decor, power tools and more,” said Stover.

The event is all you can eat and will cost $6 at the door (6-years and under get in FREE).

“Each year we’re so thankful for the communities support with this fundraiser because without the help from this event we couldn’t operate.”

Doors open at 4 p.m. at the Blossom Elementary Cafeteria located at 310 High Street in Blossom.

Local businesses wishing to donate items for the auction can contact Jeff Stover at 903-491-1394 or Karen Hines at 214-995-4337.
