National Education Association’s (NEA’s) Read Across America Day is a nationwide reading celebration that takes place annually on March 2 – Dr.Seuss’s birthday.

Aikin students and staff celebrated with a variety of activities.

Author Chester Drawers, from Branson, Missouri, presented an assembly to kindergarten, first, and second grade students about the importance of reading.

Roberta Sulsar’s kindergarten students sport “Cat in the Hat” hats for their reading activity.

The Cat in the Hat (Principal Kimberly Donnan) helped students out of cars during drop-off.

Sandy Lamb’s first grade students completed a STEM activity by reading a story about a maze, and then building a maze.
