Sports journalist Geoff Heppes recently joined the staff of 1st Street Media as the Sports Director.
“Geoff is going to bring his experience and fresh ideas across all our various media outlets, and we’re excited to have him on board,” said James Wyatt, president of 1st Street Media.
Heppes has nearly three years of previous work experience at The Paris News, where he served as the sports editor for two years.
Heppes earned his Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from Baylor University in 2016 and has lived in Paris for three years. He was born in Dallas and raised in Frisco. Heppes is the son of Geoff (Jr.) and Stephanie Heppes, and is the middle child of two sisters, Haley Pinard and Karly Heppes.
“People consume media in different ways. What Geoff will bring with his ‘Sports Page’ is a familiar brand across multiple platforms,” said Wyatt. “It’s a new way of looking at sports; it’s a new way of looking at media.”
The Sports Page will initially be presented on myparistexas.com and in the myparistexas.com bi-weekly newspaper.
In the near future, Geoff’s program will move to our radio outlets, KFYN 104.3FM The River and 95.7FM The Warrior, and will not only cover local game highlights and scores, but will also feature local athletes and coaches, and all those involved in the various sports within northeast Texas.
“I am beyond excited to start my next chapter here in Paris with myparistexas,” said Heppes. “I am grateful for my experience and relationships built at The Paris News, but I am looking forward to a new beginning. The 1st Street Media staff has provided a very welcoming, creative, and positive atmosphere. I am eager to learn and grow with this company.”
Welcome to myparistexas.com, Geoff.
